Within the scope of product safety, wristwatches and watch bands are subject to inspection, like many imported consumer products.

Within the scope of the 2020/12 consumer products import control notification, The chemical analysis must be done on the wristwatch and watch band products whose C.T.S.P. codes are given below.

 Before the import, the relevant product analysis should be done to have a better process.

For wrist watches and watch bands, C.T.S.P. codes which are included in the Consumer Products Import Control Communiqué (Product Safety and Control 2020/12) published in the Official Gazette dated 27 December 2019 and numbered 30991. and their eligibility criteria to be met are given below.

The limit of chemical conformity required in the Communiqué is given in the Regulation on Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of chemicals in the official newspaper dated June 23, 2017 and numbered 30105.

Wristwatches and watch bands consist of plastic, leather or metal parts. Chemical tests are required for every color and material.

PAH's, Cadmium and Lead tests are applied to plastic parts.

While Azo Dyestuffs are applied to textile parts, Azo Dyestuffs and Chromium +6 determination tests are applied to leather parts, while Nickel release rate, Lead and Cadmium tests are applied to metal parts.
